BACHE (The British Association of Cleaning in Higher Education) was launched in the spring of 2004 thanks to HEFCE funding and provides a great forum for cleaning professionals in the U.K. It serves as the primary association providing support for building cleaning and associated services within the further and higher education sectors. BACHE aims to standardize training for cleaning staff (specifically in further and higher education institutions and help further and higher education bodies and institutions in the UK and Ireland to network and share best practice cleaning processes. In turn, members of BACHE can strive to improve cleaning standards and professionalism across campuses in the U.K..
Every year, BACHE holds a 2 day conference and exhibition event for all members and suppliers. This conference plays host to several talks from keynote speakers, workshops, supplier presentations and even a Gala dinner and awards ceremony. The theme for the BACHE 2015 conference was “People, Performance and Progression”. The conference was hosted by the University of Kent from 28th to 30th June.
This event provided companies/associations with a unique opportunity to liaise with front-line supervisors and managers responsible for the delivery of cleaning and associated services in the education sector within an informal setting. For ECAT, this audience represents a service group with massive auditing needs who would undoubtedly be very interested in a smarter, more flexible, more scalable, lower maintenance auditing solution. We have previous experience and success in revolutionising auditing for facilities management companies in the U.K., having done just so for the GBM Support Services Group, the award-winning cleaning, maintenance, waste and facilities management service providers. Therefore, we were delighted to be able to take up the opportunity to attend the BACHE Conference 2015.
By attending the conference, ECAT company representatives had the opportunity to meet and speak with delegates during the conference; demonstrate our solution; promote the company and brand; obtain feedback and conduct market research; generate sales leads; position the company as a market leader and penetrate the educational market and network with new and existing clients. Overall, ECAT’s audit automation software was very well received and we made a lot of very important contacts. Having the support of Queens University Belfast at the event was a great help since ECAT is already providing easier, smarter, faster enterprise auditing for them.
“We recently changed from an older auditing software tool to ECAT. We find ECAT much easier to use, it’s speed and responsiveness is a game changer, it enables us to audit a much wider range of services throughout the campus, the support team are patient and helpful. We’d recommend ECAT to any Education Facility.“
